No, you can go 275 on a 8" wide wheel. Guys in the S197 section like to preach that 255 is the widest, but new edge guys put 275's on stock Bullitts all the time. I did, and it was perfect.

don't waste your money on a PHB and save a little more and get some proper shocks. those OE's on the rear will only last a little. then your going to have other problems, much more important than 4mm or 5mm.

how wide are the stock bullits?... I have an 8.5 inch wide rim with 265's and though it looks sweet I dont think you can go any wider without compromising the look and the way the tire grips and handles...JMO

Stock 17" Bullitts are only 8" wide. I no longer have any pictures of what I had, but it looked, handled and gripped perfect. I know that the current new edge guys could load you up on pictures.
