20's
I have 20's on my car. This is the first set of 20's I have drove on. I have noticed I have a much heavier wheel, is this normal? When I turn a corner sharpe I have to give a little more crank on the wheel. Is this because of the size of the tires and rims?

When I switched from 20s to 18s I noticed a big difference in the turning. The car was a lot sharper handling, this was with street tires and street alignment as well. Also noticed the ride quality got better wasnt as harsh.
I do think the 20s look better. Nice looking ride! |
Thanks, Just more force in turning. They are not cheap rims by any means, Ask the wife I still hear crap!! Look them up Savini.com

The weight of the wheel can slow you down on acceleration and turning(look up rotational mass). Especially when making a quick turn, your 20's weigh 5 to 10 pounds more than a stock 18" wheel(28lbs).Then add the weight of a 20" tire.
I went back to a 17" wheel which weighs 21lbs(each) an noticed a huge difference in overall handling, turning and acceleration. Your car looks great ! |
