Mustang vs Porsche...Mustang Wins!
Ok, I probably should have posted this in the older thread on sharing your track day experiences, but the video I put together is more for fun.
The drivers of the two Porsche Caymans were nice folk, they just didn't know the track well and weren't willing (or able) to really push their cars.
I, on the other hand, was pushing hard all weekend. And so I was passing them all weekend.
Turn the sound up a bit and enjoy.

Thats very cool John, good choice of music. Some of those trees look scary close to the track.
Did you see the recent Motor Trend article proclaiming the Cayman the worlds best Driver's car. Stock they aren't all that fast but I was in a run group with a guy who had a turbo charged one..and guess what, I still caught him. It was him though, not the car. I rode shotgun in an instructor's Cayman and it felt pretty darn good. He said it was the best handling car he'd ever driven.

That's what I thought until I looked more closely and realized that the trees were behind the guardrail, that WAS scary close to the track!
Nice video, done in fun I know, but it's still rewarding to chase down a "faster" car no matter what the circumstances.

Congrats, it's always a fun thrill to pass more capable cars at these types of DE / HPDE events ... good job
I miss those days ... my current DD is VW GTI and in the beginner thru intermediate groups I considered anyone "fair game"
Course it's not a race, but you do measure your pace versus other cars
Now as an Instructor, running against other Instructors, I do most of the point bys for passing
Definitely a skilled driver is huge differential on a road course
Knowing how to properly apex a corner for the best geometry out of it to achieve a full throttle exit is a whole lot faster than screeching tires and fighting the car's weight while trying to keep it from running out of track ... obviously, your foot aint on the go pedal too much in that scenario
Looks like you figured all that out quite well!
Keep it up, it's an awesome hobby, and what Ford intended for us to do with Mustangs ... they're not "just" muscle cars, they can turn in both directions quite well!
For my b-day I'll be pulling the trigger on an 0 Ten track pack'd GT so I'll be representin' as well on the road course
And yes, Caymans are INCREDIBLE handling cars, have driven that vehicle twice on track and it darn near finds the line on its own
