Ordered Steeda Springs and Koni's from Strano...
Just ordered my parts today. After sifting through thread the past 3 days, I've concluded that Steeda Springs and Koni dampers as recommended by Sam Strano were right for me.
What I wanted was to correct the stance and lower the car slightly. Performance was a secondary priority. I've never really complained about the stock suspension. I then realized that adding aftermarket dampers now would save any headaches later of 1) the stock dampers blowing through prematurely due to lowering and then paying my mechanic twice for taking the springs apart. 2) changing the dampers for ride and comfort. The forums pointed me in the right direction, but I didn't feel that I gained any definitive answers. Sam was informative and I must've spent at least 15 minutes on the phone with him. I also ended up adding HD strut mounts to the order for piece of mind. In the end, I ended up purchasing as follows... Steeda Sport Springs - I won't mind the stiffness. Koni shocks and struts Steeda HD upper strut mounts I definitely spent more than I originally planned, but I would rather shell out the bucks and gets things done right ahead of time rather than fixing things and spending more $'s down the road. Thanks Sam UPDATE 02/12/10 - Shocks & struts received on 02/04 Springs and mounts received on 02/09 Car went to my installer yesterday and then taken to my mechanic for alignment. My mechanic didn't have time to do the alignment yesterday, but it will be finished by mid-day today. I'll have pics up this weekend... Congrats! I ordered the Koni strts last week and put the rears on this weekend. I'm waiting on it to warm up before I dive into the fronts. I'm already lowered on FRPP springs and my stock dampers are worn out. Just having the rears on for the past few days has been nice. Rides better and no more bottoming out. Seems more composed, even though the front end is still clunking around. Shifting feels a lot smoother also since the back end isnt bobbing up and down any more. Cant wait to get the fronts done and my good wheels/tires back on and put the car through its paces on some back roads in the spring!
