Widen the Fanblade Rims
#11
The only thing holding me back on this project is a set of loaner wheels and tires. The car is my daily and I can't afford to be down for a week. I also own a ZO6 but the slave cylinder took a dump, or else I'd drive that to work. I have measured the inner wheel house area and widening to 10" should be no problem. I have located a wheel repair outlet locally (Dallas) that will widen to 10" providing sacrafice wheels for $200 each. I plan on running a small spacer to bring the tire/inner fender flush. Tire will be a 315/35/18 Nitto drag radial. Search for loaner wheels begins....

I bought 2 of the "Fan Blade" rims from http://www.detroitwheelandtire.com/ this spring, used for Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial II (P245/40R18), the rims are OEM and not the knock off's you will find on google.
Direct link to the fan blades (their customer service is excellent BTW)

I can't get enough traction with the P245/40R18 Mickey's at the drag strip so am looking to get the rims widened to 10" then run the P305/45R18 or P265/40R18 Mickey's next year, looks like about $500.00 at WeldCraft for the widening.
