I agree, making more stringent requirements would kill a lot of participation. I don't think any changes to HPDE rules are needed. But I do think the guys that do DEs a lot should run very little AF during the track season and in general maintain their cars at a very high level. The more you track your car, the greater chance things are going to break. Last season I blew a power steering hose because the factory spring clip failed (it had been on and off a few times and should have been replaced...my bad). The moral is - we need to really check and maintain our cars and the more little things we can do to increase safety (like less AF) the better for us and our brothers in speed.

thats really unfortunate, they shouldn't have trees near a track! besides nurburhring *sp, its also a reminder that our sport is dangerous
