Default KONI Yellow Shock Issue

My driver's side rear shock looks to be leaking as there is a dark oil residue all over it.

Does anyone know if the their "lifetime warranty" covers this failure?

Should I just call Koni directly or what exactly is the replacement/warranty process?

The other rear shock looks allright, but should I replace BOTH rear shocks?

They haven't even hit 15,000 total miles on them!

Plus if it is the shock.... don't you need to replace both rears? They are supposed to be matched sets, right?

I had to warranty a STR-T strut from Koni about 8 months ago. It was a semi PITA but, in the end they honored the warranty. Actually, the process goes something like this. You go to the Koni NA web site and download a Warranty Claim form, fill it out and fax it along with a copy of your invoice from when you purchased the unit. Koni will provide you with an RMA number and offer to send you a replacement unit, with a core charge, then you send the broken/defective unit to them for evaluation and if they deem the cause to be material or workmanship related they will refund your core charge.
