I'm surprised at the braking numbers. 80-0 same distance and 5ft difference 60-0. Great brakes on the new cars.

I'd guess that slight differences in tire sizes, and tranny and axle gearing have the cars upshifting at slightly different speeds and I'm betting that this is responsible for the cars ending up with identical 0 – 100 times. You'll note that the Covette "recovers" a couple of tenths by the quarter mile point (following when the Mustang has to make its upshift?).
Seat time, tires (and wheels), everything else – what tires does the Corvette wear and how do they compare to the new GT500 shoes in all of the other activities?

The Vette has launch control...that is probably responsible for some of the drag strip performance.
The braking numbers are surprising: the Vette weighs almost 500lbs less and yet the braking distances are nearly identical. What gives? That Vette has monster 6 piston calipers and 14"rotors. The Shelby has....what, Brembos - so the brakes themselves are roughly equivalent. Must be the tires (Mustang has stickier tires maybe?) or possibly the Shelby has better brake balance (rears do more of the work) or less dive. Pretty impressive.

The GS ties or wins every category, but finishes second because it costs a few thousand more? Did they expect to find a few $K in the ashtray?
The GS was my first choice, but the wife said I looked too old in the car, so I got the GT instead...

Ha, Ha..thats funny. Especially considering GM's target market for the Vette: middle aged men (gold chain encouraged but optional). Ever go to a Corvette club meeting?....I'm not exactly a spring chicken and I'm one of the younger guys in the room.
