What you might want to do is grab a set of GT500 take off wheels and tires. Which can be found for about $800. Save you a bunch of money and give you a good 9.5" wide wheel to be able to run 285's on easily. Just going to those will change your handling and cornering ability tremendously.

the gt500 rims are already sitting in the garage as we speak (or type as the case may be)
just waiting for rubber....not in a rush as my garage is surrounded by about a foot and a half of snow and ice. I got a while before this car sees the street this year.

I feel your pain on that, it's probably been about a month since I've driven mine.

was going to go 275 all around but noticed the price on these and was intrigued. While I do not autoX or track it yet, I have eyes on doing so in the future, knowing that rubber and my still stock brakes need some love before doing so (at least doing so confidently).

I am content driving it aggressively in some twistie roads and having fun for now.
I understand where you're coming from.

There seems to be quite a bit of interest in Nitto NT05's in 275/40-18. Just under $200 at DiscountTireDirect - - - once they come off backorder. I suspect that its 200 treadwear rating is slightly optimistic with respect to the way most people who'd buy those tires would be driving with them.
