So i think I've fallen in love with the 2007 GT500 rims...Now, what tires?

LMR has a package that includes the 275/40/18's. American Muscle has a package that includes 255/45/18. I think this is the size GT500's had on the fronts, at least.
I don't know how much, if any 5% less sidewall will make.

Anyone running this combo without issue? They'll be going on my 06 vert v6. Please, post pics.

275/40 - 18 all the way around on 18x9

AM 18x9 DD bullitts, had 255/45R18 NT555s all around


FRPP 2010 GT500s, 18x9.5, 275/40R18 NT05s all around


Both pictures have the same suspension (eibach pro-kit)

Make sure you do the math or use one of the many tire calculators available online.

The 275/ 40 would not be a true 5% less sidewall height than the 255/45, since the aspect ration is a percentage of width.

Very rough numbers, you would gain just shy of 1 inch in width and lose about .4 in overall height using the 275/40

The sidewall height is a PERCENTAGE of the width.
The sidewall height is basically the same from a 255/45-18 to a 275/40-18.
I have had both and the 275/40-18s win hands down.
255/45-18 KDWIIs on the left and 275/40-18 SuperSports on the right.

I am running 275/40/18's and I am lowered 1.5 inches, with no issues.


Disregard the dirty car, I had just had the tires installed.
