Default Question on installing new struts and springs

When I switch over to my new Koni Yellows and Steeda Sport springs from Strano, do I need to transfer the rubber sheath on the bottom of the old spring to the new, and transfer over the jounce bumper and cover to the new strut? Want to make sure before I dig in.

Yes, you need to transfer the OEM insulator (careful it's glued on), dust boot and jounce bumper. I don't believe any of these can be bought independently. I had the exact same question last week. I had hoped to fully assemble the struts/mounts/springs BEFORE removing the OEM's. No luck. So, it adds to the amount of time to swap stuff out.

The springs are about 5/8" diameter. I was thinking about just getting some rubber hose from the hardware store instead of trying to remove the hose from the original springs?

The stock isolator on the bottom of the spring pulls off and installs very easily, no need to substitute it with questionable make do parts.

The bottom spring covers are about $6 each at your friendly Ford dealer. The more pertinent question is about the strut tops you're going to use. Have you got new upper mounts (FRPP or Steeda)?

I will be using Steeda HD upper mounts with a spring isolator from a 2010 Motorcraft mount.

I got the spring-strut assemblies out, but how in the heck do you get the large nut off the top of the strut after getting the spring compressed?

Did you buy new camber bolts for your alignment or do you think the stock ones will work?
