Finally installed rear lowering springs on my convertible
Since I first bought my car I have wanted to lower the rear to even out its stance. It is a daily driver so I did not want to lower it all around, just in the back. And with the weight of the extra convertible bracing I was leery of how the car would sit if I used rear springs that advertised a 1" drop.
Two weeks ago I finally replaced the stock springs with the Route 66 55D springs. Drop was 1/2", just as advertised, and the look is just what I wanted. The spring rates are very similar to the stock springs, so the ride quality was virtually unaffected. The only difference I really can notice is that the car "sits down" more quickly when going over speed bumps.
My daily commute includes a mix of broken pavement rural roads, interstate highway and city streets, and I am completely happy with the ride of the car. If anyone else out there is on the fence about lowering the rear of their convertible I would definitely recommend the Route 66 springs!
