Default Koni Yellows + Eibach Pro-Kits

Anyone have the combo? I'm curious to how the yellows would dampen the pro-kits and if it could be comfortable enough for a daily driver

I have Koni yellows with Vogtland springs, which I believe have a lower spring rate than the Eibachs. I can tell you that I run my Koni's just a 1/2 turn from full soft. I have about 3-3.5 turns total and at 2 turns the ride was punishing. On smooth roads it handled amazingly well, but over railroad tracks and dips it was terrible. At my current setting, the ride is very comfortable while still offering great handling.

I drive my car daily and have taken it on 1000+ mile road trips with this set up. I think the Koni and Eibachs would be a great match.

The question would be after your 1.4 inch spring drop an the Koni's being adjusted, what are you doing to correct your roll center and steering?? Are you going with a ball joint and tie rod roll center correction kit? Erik

is that stuff really necessary? how big of a difference would it make?

I have that exact set-up along with some Steeda 18"x9.5" wheels with Continental Extreme Contact DW tires. BUT... the Koni's and the Eibach springs are still in the boxes in the garage waiting to go on the car. Hopefully get them on in a few weekends as I've been busy with home projects. I'll be glad to post again in a few weeks when my son and I have the free time to get the work done though.

IMHO, that stuff is overkill for a street setup. Sure if you want to get 10/10ths out of your car on the track, you could spring for taller BJ's and a bumpsteer kit to correct the geometry, but I think as long as you get a good alignment you should be good to go.

And if he was really worried about handling, he'd get a good coilover setup or at least linear rate springs unlike the progressive rate's of the pro-kit. (Althoug the linear vs progressive debate is a whole 'nuther animal)
