What tool to remove the front upper strut mount nut?
We were trying to remove the upper strut mount nut but could not find the appropriate tool.
See the related picture here:

There's that bolt at the bottom that's very deep and need to be locked so the top nut can be wrenched.
We got stuck and could not proceed with the koni install
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

You don't do that bolt until you have the assembly out of the car, and then only with a spring compressor. It is holding the spring down and if you unbolt it the spring will come up with a lot of force. Probably why you can't get the wrench on the nut you have to hold.
You do have a spring compressor right? Very dangerous to undo that without the compressor.

Had the same problem when I did mine. Had one of these lying around : http://www.harborfreight.com/3-8-eig...nch-97177.html Used it to hold the recessed nut while used a socket/ratchet to turn the top of the shock piston (visa versa woks too). Dirt cheap and worked like a charm! Good luck with yours!

I just used a deep socket with my impact to remove that bolt before I lifted my car then used the weight of the car to release the tension on the spring while jacking it up. Yeah, not the best for the strut if you plan to reuse it but I didn't care since I went with Konis. I reinstalled with lowering springs which in my case was able to push down by hand to get the threads started. Much easier than having to bust out my spring compressor. Do any of this at your own risk, though.
