2005 4.6 vert bushings
With almost 92k miles of wash DC driving, I think it is time to replace the bushings. As the weather got cooler there is a clunking noise from the front. I pressed down on the car on both sides and heard the noise.
I've never replaced bushings and want to give it a try. What should I expect? Should I rent a press or just leave it up to a shop to replace them?

That is a great question!
First, I think it is awesome that you have recognized this issue, as many people do not properly think to service their bushing issues.
Whiteline offers a great series of products that should help in this regard. For the front we have our control arm bushing kit (KCA433) which is our Anti-Dive kit. Replacing both bushings in the front lower control arms. I would highly recommend having a shop with a press do this as it can be a tough install.
For the rear, i would best consider just replacing the entire arms, reason being after removal/install time, pressing bushings out/back in... the labor time really adds up and you are basically spending the same amount of money. By replacing the entire arms you can also make the job easier to do yourself.
Whiteline offers both rear upper, and lower control arms featuring our synthetic elastomer bushings that I think will help keep the ride quality while giving you a nice upgrade in the process.
Let me know if you have any questions!
