Front end noise, which LCA to go with?
Just recently did my suspension mods, but still have a clunk in right front over small bumps. Was thinking about upgrading the front LCA to hopefully fix the issue instead of just replacing the stock stuff.
Five choices seem to come to mind.
BMR non adjustable tubular LCA
BMR non adjustable "handling" LCA which says it recenters the roll center for lowered cars
Ford Racing GT500 front LCA
Stock GT front LCA
First question, is the handling LCA correcting the same thing that a bump steer kit would do? Second, how can I find out if any of these LCAs require an upgrade to an 18" wheel? And third, which LCA would you recommend and why?

if you do a bumpsteer kit, you need the steeda ball joint. I ordered the bumpsteer kit and had the same idea as you (i wont just replace the balljoint, ill replace the whole arm) apparently the two from ford are the same control arms just with better ball joints, and word on the street is that the bmr arms are crap. If your car is lowered and U want to correct the bumpsteer your better off just getting the bumpsteer kit and balljoint, otherwise just replace it with better than stock parts like MOOG

The BMR "handling" LCA's have the taller ball joint - equivalent to the steeda x5 joint. You will need a separate bumpsteer kit with these arms. You will most likely need 18" wheels with these also. I have heard that the older versions can crack if beat on and the poly bushings will give more NVH.
I run the GT500 arms. I have had no problems with them. You will not need a bumpsteer kit and your stock wheels will be fine.

Oh good, thanks for the input on the BMR stuff.
Seems like Sam has the best prices on the GT500 front LCAs. Seems like a straightforward install. Can it be done without removing the tie rod ends?
