I'm leaning toward struts because most of the springs could be too stiff and they lower the car too much.
I had similar objectives for improving the suspension performance on my 2013 GT vert. I put in KONI Yellow adjustable shocks and struts and the FRPP front (adjustable) and rear sway bars. I kept the stock springs and had no interest in changing the ride height. I like the results a lot. I took my queues for the changes from an evaluation of the 2011 GT, in a test with the BMW M3, done by professional race driver Randy Pobst. Although I haven't been on the track yet - I will in a couple of months - the "spirited road driving" really shows a big reduction in both body roll and brake nose dive. Although it is the rebound that is adjustable on the KONI's, the compression is definitely stiffer as well. The best part is that the NVH has made no noticeable change in city street driving - although the ride is a little rougher then the stock ride. What you change really needs to be a function of what you want to happen with the suspension.....not what others think you "should want."

I don't know about brake dive, I just want my front end to not sound like it is hitting bottom (clunk) and then sounding like the entire front end is rattling. I got my new struts and shocks delivered last night, I'm out to go put them on. It's raining and my garage is full of 66 Fastback, 03 Harley, and 76 Corvette so I guess I'll be out in the rain, lol. I don't care, when my 76 Corvette takes bumps smoother and without clunks, time to take drastic measures! I didn't get end links, I am going to look at them hard, might see if a local parts store would have them. Wish me luck, I'll post results...

You can buy struts which already have the spring installed on them and it's just a matter of installing. SUPER easy, no spring compressor needed. Just the bolts at the top strut towers, undo the sway bar end links, and 2 big bolts at the bottom. Then the strut assembly pops out, put the new pre-assembled struts in, reassemble and boom, no more nose dive.
Rear shocks couldn't be easier.

So-called "loaded struts" use struts that are OE-replacement level - which includes KYBs.

Don't expect to find any loaded struts that use Koni yellows or Bilstein HD's.

I installed these on my 06 GT:

Amazon Amazon

It was easy to install both, and yes, the rear shocks on a convertible are easy to get to. On the rear shocks, I'd recommend this:

Amazon Amazon

I didn't have one, and the first one I kinda stripped out a bit with some vise grips until I figured it out (you usually do on the first one!). They may not be the best performance struts but this is my driver and I was looking to rid the car of a thump in the front end. I had done the tie rod ends, etc but the struts on the car looked good so I didn't replace them. Well, I replaced them and could not be happier. Hope this helps.

Do you have to order a right and a left or are they both the same?
