R Comp Tires for Auto X
Hey guys, I've been smart with my money for soooo long waiting for the chance to REALLY get into auto cross the it's all finally paid off. I'll be buying a set of dedicated wheels and tires for the track real soon .
I came across some R Comp Pirellis for super cheap. I know that A6s are the tire to get, but they would be over double the price. I'm wondering how well the R comps would do compared to the A6s for autocross only. I know A6s heat up super fast and offer grip quickly but don't do as well over many heat cycles... does anyone have any AutoX experience with a track tire in autocross? How would they compare to the A6s?

They may be marginally better than Azenis or RE11 Bridgestones but not by much. It would be an exercise in frustration if you've been competing for some time and wanting to make the jump from good street tires.
If it's stick you want - A6s or Kumho V710s are the way to get it. If you're smooth, they should go the entire season.
