Default Knocking sound after suspension instal

I just installed tokico dspecs steeda sports steeda upper strut mount and steeda adjustable panhard bar.

After the install I drove the car around the block and there's a knocking that sounds like metal on metal coming from the passenger front tire area but I can't figure out what it is. It doesn't look like any bolts have moved, I marked most of them with a grease pen. And everything feels tight... Any ideas? Could I have over tightened something?
The car handled fine and felt fine on smooth asphalt but if I hit a man hole or something I'd hear the thump.

also, I guess this is a related question.
I transfered the rubber insulator from the stock spring to the steeda spring and the rubber strut cover and (bump stop?) from the stock strut to the dspec. is that wrong? could that be a problem?

That shouldn't be a problem, you are supposed to swap that stuff over. Usually, the knock is sway bar links or the strut nut

I'd go back over everything with the suspension loaded. May not seem like it, but something is loose (not so loose you can tell, but loose enough that suspension forces can move it)

Looks like it was the upper strut nuts.. The driver side was spinning loosely.. Is there a way to tighten it on the strut? I no longer have access to spring compressors

just hold the top of the strut as good as you can and crank the nut down. Be Careful holding the top, the d-spec shaft is hollow. Might want to put some blue Loctite on too if you can get some in the threads
