Default Super Sports too much tire for 07v6?

Hey guys, i'm in the market for new tires and I see that Michelin Pilot Super Sports are some of the most highly regarded tires you can buy.

I'm wondering are they possibly too much tire for the 07 v6? If so, what are some great alternatives for me. My wheel size is 19x8.5 and my current tire size is 245/40/19.

Thanks in advance!

too much? In what way? They are some really great tires. If you want a summer only performance tire you could do way worse.

They are good quiet consistent and relatively long lasting street tires. below 70* though they dont offer much traction. I have had pss and my rears lasted 15k miles with a decent amount of spinning, they spun too easy on the street when it was below 75* or so out. The fronts never gave me any traction issues ever under turns or hard braking, and probably could last 30k miles on the front. Not sure if their price is completely justifiable for everyone but overall i was satisfied with them even considering the price.

Remember that all summer tires suffer with grip as the temps go down. But 70 or is on the high side of the lacking grip number. They can vary, I know Continental DW's are one of the best working summer tires when it's 40 degrees.

Well, I ended up getting a full set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports in size 245/40/19 all around.

They are pretty incredible I have to say. I live in Houston, so it still in the 90s here and they have SO MUCH GRIP. Holy ****, I can take corners at very high speeds as I play around with them yesterday.

I think I'm gonna have to get some suspension upgrades to start to take full advantage of the tires. Sway bars and LCAs. :/

What PSI are the tires at? The place that installed my new tires pumped them up to 40 psi, which hindered grip considerably. Big change when getting the pressure right.

Just make sure they arent like 40+ but it sounds like they are proper pressure judging by how your liking them.
