Fitting some un-orthodox tires
 

Hey guys. Last weekend I did an HPDE at MSR Cresson, and I made a contact that can get me some ALMS team Pirelli P-Zero LM slick scrubs for very cheap. This guy runs them on his Vette, and is able to get 3 or 4 track days out of them, and he is a much better/aggresive driver than I am. The tires available to me are sized 305/660 18 and 305/675 18 (sizing chart: http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/mo...eet/slick.html). Now from what I can tell I would need a 18x9.5" rim I believe. So what I need to know is either what kind of rim offset or what kind of spacer I would need to run in order to fit these tires. I am still in the middle of researching this, so if I find the answer myself I will update this, but in the mean time I would like to get others' opinions. I would also like suggestions on brands of rims that will fit these. Thanks.

I found out that the 07 GT500 rims have a 45 mm offset, which is one of the offsets that Sam sells for his Enkei's, but I don't see any indication that people have run 305's on them, which makes it seem like this isn't feasible. My contact did say that he had seen a guy put these tires on "GT500 knock offs" before though.

I would recommend you getting a 10" rim for the tires to properly fit and the 10" rim will still be tight. I'm running 18x10 Forgestar F14's with a 42 offset and they clear just fine with a 295 on all fours. You might need a spacer to clear with 305's. I recommend the spacers from maximum motorsports because they are an exact fit for our mustangs and don't cause excess wheel vibrations.

Ok thanks for the recommendation. I guess if I go 10" I can get the SVE Drift's which are what I was originally looking at. +43mm offset and weigh 24lbs, so not the heaviest wheel, and decently cheap. Now I just have to work out what kind of spacer I would need.

Ok so after some more research I've discovered the Roush Trak Pak wheels were 18x10 with a 45mm offset. These SVE Drift wheels:

are 18x10 with a 43mm offset. So that would put the SVE's 2 mm in-board compared to the Roush ones. I am trying to find out what tire sizes those cars came with to start.

EDIT: Those 10" rims only had 275's on them, so doesn't tell me much.

Enkei PF01 wheels at 18 x 10.5 (Sam sells them along with a pair of 5mm spacers for the front that may or may not be necessary depending on actual tire section and tread widths as installed)

Forgestar 18 x 11 (Vorshlag . . . call them to discuss . . . IIRC the fronts and rears are not the same offset, and you'll need to run a bit more negative camber)

I have 285/40/18 on the sve drift wheels all around with no rubbing and they are nearly flush with the fenders, maybe a hair tucked in.

Yea I saw the ones Sam is selling but unfortunately those are out of the price range right now since I just bought a house. Eventually I do want them tho, just can't afford that right now.
