Default Effects of Rake? I had to put stock springs back on the rear

I put some new tires on , and they were just a bit too big (315/35/20) so they rubbed when i hit bumps. So i decided to put the stock springs back on the rear the raise it up in the rear and hopefully prevent rubbing.

What kind of effect will this have on handling? Soft springs in the back with the back higher up than the front.. Hopefully nothing too negative comes from this. I will still have the koni sport dampers.

I havent tried driving it yet since its still at the shop, im going to pick it up at around 5 today.

So now the front is lowered 1 inch on steeda sports, and the rear is stock height... The rear also has bigger diameter tires so it will definatly have a bit of a rake. What should i expect, and should i change anything with the dampers with this new setup?

I don't think it will look very good, but thats just my .02

If they were rubbing when your car hit bump stops, then raising the rear will not help, it will still rub when it hits bumpstops

I doubt you'll notice very much difference. It's the Steeda front springs that went a lot stiffer, not the rears, which I think are only about 25 lb/in stiffer.

1" of rake is only a little over half a degree, which mostly means that you've lost half a degree of caster and your headlights/foglights will now be aimed a little low.

kevin - the whole point of raising it up is to give a little more room for the rear of the car to move before the bumpstops and/or tires make any contact. Except for going over some huge and unexpected bump, I think he's going to gain more from the increased ride height than he'll lose by dropping back to a slightly lower rear spring rate. And a little rake still looks better than chewed-up tires.

Camera angle obviously isnt the same but you can still see the difference. It feels pretty good and does not seem to rub now, so far. I think i like the look

these tires (bfg rivals 315 35 20) seem to grip in the turns better than any ive tried , so im pretty happy.

Looks way better than I imagined. Other than the caster being what, fractions of a degree different, it should be fine

Thanks!, im actually liking the ride more now.. i think with the steedas i was hitting the bump stops pretty often, now i dont and it feels pretty nice with the stock springs on the rear and koni sports.

Heres another pic of the rake
