Default electric power steering retro-fit

To start let me tell you my situation.
I had a dirtbike crash 3 years ago and ended up a quadriplegic with limited arm strength. I had to sell my GT500 while in the hospital. I recently picked up a 2005 gt convertible (I can get lifted in using overhead lift with top down).
I want to modify it so I can drive. Hand controls and lighter power steering.
I had a van modified and the power steering was very expensive. (you need to install a back up pump in case your engine dies or belt breaks)
So my question, has anyone retrofitted an electric power steering system?
It might save me a bunch of cash or plan b might be sell it and buy a newer model, however cash is an issue.
thanks for an input
