Default Tires

How wide can I go on the rear with 10 inch rims. I have 275's now.

305/35's are generally OK'ed by their mfrs to go on 10's.

Might feel a bit woozy at speed though, especially if you're dropping the rear tire pressure for better grip at the dragstrip.

Not sure what you're asking for. How close to the ~27" OE tire diameter do you need them to be and for what kind of driving? For that matter, what diameter and width wheels would this be for?

Norm,

In order of your questions: I would like to stay within a 1/2" of 27" not shorter As for Driving, I just use the care as a pleasure car, no racing nothing but cruising around.. Wheel width is 10" Diam is 18"

That pretty much narrows it down to 275/40-18, where a 10" wheel is only half an inch wider than "measuring width" and a full inch less than "max recommended". 285/40-18 is usually do-able but has been known to rub even on 18x9.5 GT500 wheels (+45 offset). Either way, your sixxer's rack will probably need steering stops (not a difficult job from what I've heard).

I went with the GT500 setup 255/45 in the front and 285/40 in the rear. The 275's left a gap and looked weird because of the lower sidewall height compared to the fronts.
