99-04 wheels on a 2011 GT ?
Is this done on a regular basis when people want a wider stance?
I am installing a body kit on a 2011 GT, need new wheels and tires, and want to fill out the wheel well a bit. I know the 99-04 wheels have a different offset [outward] so is this an easy way to fill out the wheel well?
I am putting 9 inch wide on the front and 10.5 wide on the rear.

People do that, but SN95 offsets are still wrong for an S197. Why not just get wider wheels?
I have 18 x 11's all around, mostly for my track time but it's still daily-drivable. 285/35-18 tires. Fills the outside up without wasting any space on the inside that could be used for wider round things. Not a wide body car, so you'd have more wiggle room for lowering (mine isn't lowered because all of the lowering springs lower the car too much for me). Sheetmetal that's just a little wider up front would bring the front tires back toward flush.

I happen to know the 99-04 wheel is offset outward about an inch so want to use that to my advantage.
[I plan to buy a set of 99-04 18 x 9 and 18 x 10 Bullitt wheels for just over $400 new for the set.]
