Track day video chasing a Volvo S60 T6 AWD
Sorry about the no audio, I was having so much fun |I forgot to turn on the mic. The new wheels with the Mickey Thompson tires and the Brembo brakes turned the car into a completely different car. No more understeer! Tires are 285/35R19 all around. The guy in the Volvo S60 T6 AWD is a professional driver and former national champion. I guess he pitted just so I wouldn't have the satisfaction of passing him.
Need a new Sig photo now

What would happen if you turned in a little later for the corner seen at 0:42, 2:25, and 4:00 (T1?) making the entry to (T2?) a little easier/faster?
Looks like a fun track for an S197. I'd love to drive it but somehow I don't see that ever happening.

Yeah, I was taking it easy since I was getting the feel of the new wheel/tire combo and brembo brakes but thanks for the tip. I had a passenger doing a live stream for our club and he was already scared enough
Next time I'll push it harder, that corner is my nemesis, I've spun out twice before there. I hope to go to barber or bondurant later this year. Need driver mods now.
If you ever come down here on a track day date I'll loan you mine. Track is really fun.
Here's the car with the new shoes, much less understeer compared to sig:

Were you babying it? He seems to pull on you significantly on every stretch. I've never done any road racing so I am just speaking from the straight-line accelerations in the video when you guys are exiting the turns.

No, that Volvo is modded. Wicked fast on the straights, but you can see how much it leans on the corners. I'm guessing stock suspension. Someone told me the Volvo put down 365 HP at the wheels on the dyno, don't know if it's true but it was definitely faster than my car and I was flooring it. My engine is basically stock, only intake and tune. It's my daily driver after all.

Thanks! Tires are Mickey Thompson Street Comp Performance Radial Tire - 285/35R19 all around. I really should get real track tires, but we only have a few track days a year so these work out OK and they are great daily drivers as well, even on the rain. I had Nitto NT555's before and these are light years ahead of the Nittos, Especially on the rain. I thought running 285's up front would make the car dart on the road but no, it tracks perfectly. Tires don't rub either even at full lock.
