You're running less grippy pads up front to delay rear lockup?
If you need to solve a rear lockup issue, why wouldn't you use higher-grip pads up front with lower grip pads out back? 2's up front, 29's out back, where the difference in mu is to advantage.

ok, the rear tires are easier to lockup first but not much after that the fronts will also lockup and the ABS pump will kick in. I find it really hard to control the vehicle once the abs system kicks in. I assume weight transfer causes the lockup of the rear as its mostly when the fuel tank is below 1/2.

Weight transfer plus static weight distribution, actually. Below half a tank, your car's static weight distribution is some small amount more forward-biased (something like 0.7%).
I suppose dynamic fluid sloshing effects could be greater as well, but an even smaller effect.
