Default Do the FRPP M-5230-SGT's drone?

Ok, I am still trying to decide if I want to swap out my FRPP M-5230-GTA's for the SVT's or SGT's. My big concern is that I will end up with a muffler that drones. I have heard that the SVT1's are allot like the GTA's and that they don't drone, but what about the SGT's? I like the idea of something maybe a little more aggressive than my GTA's but I don't want something that will drone and just wind up annoying me. Any honest/accurate info would help. Thanks.

I'm not for sure that I get what you are saying. Borla makes the FRPP SVT1 and SGT. So you said that they don't drone, but then you said that they do?

I'm confused?

Which one do you own?

Thanks.

The stinger type round can by Borla or the FRPP name is the same muffler and they drone, the oval svt1 or 5230 do not...........

I have the SGT's and they barely have any drone whatsoever. As long as you are driving in the right gear you are good to go. I think the SGT's offer a good middle ground of aggressive sound without being annoying in drone.

I have them and as Airforceus said..as long as the gear is right...the drone is almost non-existent.....I love them...nice aggressive sound without causing a headache...

So what do mean, "If the gear is right"? Does that mean that you are driving on the freeway in 5th gear instead of 6th? I am usually turning between 1800-2000 rpm on the freeway in 6th gear at speeds of 65-75 mph. Will the SGT’s drone at those speed and rpm? Thanks.

bkmagby - yep, that is what I meant. From my experience, there really is very very little to no drone if you are turning 1800-2000rpms.
