Default Takes some getting used to....

I haven't had a horsepower car since.....2001 or thereabouts, so the GT 500 is taking some getting used to.....

But besides the horsepower.....geez, why didn't they put a bigger gas tank in this thing??? I panicked coming home from Nashville because I had already burned a 1/4 tank of gas, then I filled it up and it was only 4 gallons! I'm used to either an F 105 or one of my company vans sucking up 25-28 gallons at a time! I guess the PT's tank is about 16 too, but it requires much less frequent stops! Interstate driving, can I get 300 miles on a tank?

Thanks!

I think we have 15 gallon tanks: so 300 miles would be extremely close...if you figure you can maintain more than 21mpg on the interstate...but man that would be way too close for me...

Yeah, me too! But, hey, the salesman told me these things get 24-25 mpg out on the highway....that's why I bought it, of course! On the F-150 forum we were discussing how far you can go once the low fuel light comes on.....silly debate! When I hit 1/4 tank, I'm hitting the pumps!

When I drove mine back from Dallas on 93 octane and the cruise set @ 74, i got 23.6MPG

It does suck that you cant get over 300 miles to a tank.
