GT500 dash top
The Mustang's interior has been often criticized for being cheap.
Personally, I really love the look of the 05-09 interiors and think I still prefer it to the new 2010 models. One area though irks me... the plastic dash top! I see that the GT500 models came with what looks to me to be a nicely padded leather dash top. It seems like an upgrade I'd make in a heartbeat if there was a good source for it. Is there a part number for that dash top? How involved would the replacement be? Has anyone done this? A leather e-brake boot would be killer as well. Now if only something could be done to make the door speakers look like something I didn't get out of K-mart... |
Easy try this aftermarket company that is a sponsor for the forum!

The stock upgraded GT500 interior dash top is leather but a very cheap thin grade leather, the seats are not bad!

This is also part of the "Premium Interior Upgrade" Package... or something like that.
Starting as an option in '07, it was available for the GT and probably the V6 too. It came with leather trimmed/stitched arm rest on the center console and on the door panels. You can get it at the Ford dealer, but it will probably be expensive. |
This looks great! If I can get blue stitching, I'm definitely in.

Is that protective clear film on the dash supposed to be removed. I noticed mine has a small air bubble and I was not sure if it is supposed to be removed or not.
