Youtube posters are idiots when it comes to any topic in general. I now officially avoid reading them when I watch a video on there.

I'm going Saturday morning to preorder my GT500. Not sure what color I'm going to get but I'm chomping at the bit. Any of you dealer/salesmen-types heard the approximate dates for delivery? I've heard everything from late May to late fall. (Oh btw, I'm putting the first preorder down at the dealership...not a lot of demand right now apparently)

I owned two Cobras, a 99 (used) and 03 Vert (34k under X plan) but jesus, a price as tested by motor trend approaching 51k not including taxes?

I bought a used 05 Vette in early 07 (loaded with Z51) and its times using the same motor trend http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ecs_price.html are close to that. Shoot buy a stripper vette with the LS3 and add Z51 for a few extra bucks and your well under the cost of that car with better times. Who cares about a back seat?

OMG I want it now! With some slicks and a GOOD driver, that thing could very possibly break into the 11s, which is pretty ridiculous for $50k and a warranty. Haha all those guys in the new M3's should see this video, I'd love to see their reaction

Well I can tell you this right now... back seat is important, I need it a lot. Since Miami will always be Miami, I see 5 corvettes for every one mustang out here, so corvettes do not turn heads any more here at all, I see more Z06's here than I do mustang GT's. And then there's the big retards heading up GM so if we went to buy that LS3 vette now, where's our warranty in a year?

If one uses the back seat then that is a great reason but still is it worth more then buying a GT and putting a supercharger on it? Basically what I am getting at after owning 8 mustangs and still my 72 Mach is that the Mustang/SVT was about ***** out performance which poked GM in the eye vs. cost. That is why I had a 03 Cobra, for little to no cost I was smoking the C5 models, now the car cost MORE than the Vette (depending on trim) and still is not as fast. That was not the case when the 03/04 Cobra came out, the car out performed and was more reliable then the GT models (with supercharger) at the time. Now the Vette can cost less, have leather trim and a performace suspension package (or more) and easily handle the 2010 car. The tables have turned.

Enjoy as you wish of course, I still think Ford lost the way with the fatter car and the higher cost, if it still weighed no more then the 03/04 it would be a screamer especially if the price was still within the original intent of the Mustang.

Oh and by the way if you missed it B. Hussein Obama backed up GM warranty with a government promise.

Thanks, Great looking car in the sig. I still bleed Ford Blue and I took a load of crap from my GM brother when I bough the Vette, but dammit drop the pounds and keep the car cheap and you will have another customer!

I'll agree with a number of points here. The Shelby has gotten waaay too expensive. And I'm really having a hard time understanding why........are the new suspension components underpinning it THAT damn expensive??? 41K for the 07-09's was pushing it, but still not too bad considering the amount of car you were getting. But 47-49K? Rediculous. Blame Ford's lack of a true Corvette competitor for this. They feel justified in building the top dog Mustang as expensive as they please.

On it's own merits, the 2010 GT500 is a hell of a Mustang. I don't think anyone will disagree. But the bloated pricetag and Shelby "bragging rights" exclusivity element need to go away. The next Cobra should be a GT with a forged, supercharged 4V 5.0, 6 speed gearbox, really good factory tires, a solid suspension setup, and some unique styling cues (of course). They can build that car and offer it for 38-40K easy if they want to. But if the Shelby's keep selling like gamebusters.......I don't see Ford being motivated to change the formula.

Well I ordered it. 53k with taxes/tags/etc.

Yeah I could get a great deal on a brand new 08 or 09 vette except for one simple fact: I don't want one, I do care about a back seat, and I don't care that much about the times. Thank you for your input though.
