Holy crap! Even the crappy car mag drivers are nailing sub mid 12 sec 1/4 mile times. Impressive. Just wish the car hadn't gotten so damn expensive. At the original's low 40's pricetag this car would be awesome.

If you watch the Inside Line video, where they're running the 1/4 mile, the Shelby gets very good launches. There's virtually no tire spin. Those Eagle F1 Supercar tires must be awesome!

LOL @ Car and Driver not being able to do better than a 12.9. Buncha losers. I did better than that on my third run down the track "ever" in my GT with its lowly 460hp..........on non-drag appropriate street tires no less. Sounds like someone was just mashing the gas pedal to the floor and hoping for a time that would be on par with the new Camaro.

I can honestly say, after seeing the Kona Blue Shelby with the white stripes....that this is the best looking of the 3 pony car rivals available right now. The Camaro is a styling identity crisis, and the Challenger is sexy and classic, but not terribly frightening. But the GT500: sexy with a murderous rage. Just awesome.

Think it was autoblog that got a 12.3 out of it. I can't wait to see what really drag racers start getting out of this car. should be close to breaking into the 11's

I gotta say, I'm rather surprised that hardly anyone in this section is commenting on the recent rounds of mag tests on the new Shelby. So used to seeing 3 new threads pop up everyday just because some new detail on the 2010's had been released. Yet.........no one seems to care how awesome the new GT500 has turned out.

Just an observation. Can't wait to see what these monsters can do on the strip with some proper tires.

I'm surprised as well. I thought for sure someone would have posted all of this before me. But yeah, with some slicks, this thing will be running 11's. Although, those Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires that Ford developed for it are tremendous from everything I've read and will be more than capable on the road.

I'm just waiting on MM&FF to do their thing with it. I am glad that some of the mags are giving the car credit where it's due. I've been on YouTube a lot lately and i am amazed at the ignorant comments idiots make about Mustangs in general.
