Default 2010 tune only

Just got the tune done today and it made 503hp at 12to1 A/F.Now I'll wait until spring and decide what may be next.Bypassed the limiter and set it to 6700rpm.Probably shift the car at 6500rpm's.Car was hot and was on a back to back pull when the 503 was made.If cooled I was told it would have been slightly higher, maybe 507-508.

Congrats on those numbers. Where did you get your tune?

Just some advice you're living on the edge running consistenty up to 6500. These long stroke motors don't like to rev so Id be careful. If you miss a shift you're in grenade land at 6700. I don't know what your graph looks like but you're probably not making any more power after 6200 anyway.

Dasilva racing did the tune, they're located in Pickering ontario.Car was still pulling at 6500,still making about 490@6500.Peak pwr was about 6200,general rule of thumb is to shift 300 past peak pwr. Thanks for your advice on the limiter,I may reduce that too 6550-6600.

Yea I'm familiar with the 300rpm shift rule to keep it in the sweet spot of the power band. All I'm saying is that every 5.4 blown engine thread I've read had something to do with over-revving it. The rods are the achilles tendon of these motors.

Good luck and once again nice numbers.

Congrats! It's amazing what a tune by itself does on these 2010's.

Here's how we did with our 2010.

I'm looking at your dyno graphs and I'm seeing some odd stuff. First, the torque curve plummets in each run. When I did mine it was almost flat. Also, in your second completely stock run the HP and TQ intersect real early, not at 5250 like the others. Are these charateristics of the Mustang dyno?

Since the Mustang Dyno is a load bearing dyno the charts will read completely different than a Dynojet. We also still haven't put the car on a Dynojet to compare numbers but at this point we'll never be able to compare it to the original numbers because the car has had a few more things done to it since then. :-)

Buddy of mine had his 2010 gt500 for 1500 miles and installed a whipple and first time at the track with the whipple, he mis shifted and blew his motor.... ....he also changed his rev limit..... only 1900 miles on it.

Thanks for the advice on the rpm limit. When I get the car out in april,I'll probably back the rev limit down to 6300.Inslalling L/T's,x-pipe w/converters,CAI,2.6 pully and a 1 piece axle exchange driveshaft along with an Afco H/E.
