2007 Shelby GT clutch looses pressure and even stalls
Hey everyone,
first time here on this forum. just wondering if anyone could help me out here. bought my 07 Shelby GT used the first weekend of January 2010, only had 4500 miles on it, now 13k. never really got down on it until a few months later and it did seem sluggish from the start, as in a little delay in taking off, like its thinking about it. but now my issue is that my clutch will just loose pressure, either on the road shifting from 3rd to 4th or any other gear that is, and it just pushes to the floor, does not engage at all. i have to pump it a few times till it engages and i can shift. when im at a stop, say a drive through or something, it will loose pressure and i can have the clutch all the way to the floor and the car will just stall out of me, have to turn the key off, let the clutch out and pump it to engage, and to be safe i stick it in N and start it up. so pretty much just randomly it will loose pressure in many situations and i either have to pump it or it stalls out and blah blah. i have read up on many things about bleeding the clutch fluid, master and slave cylinders and such but is this a problem because the shelby GT is a GT with some performance add on's and no clutch up grade or did i buy a lemon with a clutch issue. i never rag it out really, i do drive it daily about 45 minutes to and from work so it gets its daily use. any suggestions? should i just take it to a shop when i get the time and money? sorry for the long post im just very frustrated with this issue. thanks.

yeah i need to get a vacuum pump from what i found out to really bleed it out good, and the bleed valve is difficult to get to, i hope thats all it is, you think i should just get a performance clutch kit and go ahead and replace it while im at it?

I also have an 07, and I had the exact same issue about 2 months ago while I was across the country for a weekend road trip. I ended up having to hard shift it to get it into the shop, but I made it back home and got it to Ford with a month left on warranty. It needed a new master cylinder. There was a crack in it which was allowing the hydraulic pressure to leak out as I pressed the clutch, it got progressively worse until it became a useless dead pedal that just hung there as I hardshifted it and listened to the groaning as I did. Not pretty. Get that thing to the shop.

Hey Bird thanks man, I did not think mine would have warranty on it at all, turns out i have 9 months left of it , took it to the dealer and thats all she wrote, trhey replaced the master and the slave and its fixed. had to take it back for a crazy rattling noise though which they didn't put the exhaust back on good. everythings good now though. this thread can now be closed.
