S197 Shelby SectionThis section is for technical discussions pertaining specifically to the latest installment of the Shelby Mustangs; the Shelby GT, the CS6, and the awesome GT500.
Why would it be depending upon the car? As long as its a GT500 it "should" fit all the same of the same style, no?
Because cars are not built to aerospace tolerances. You have 1 car where there is less than .200 (less than a 1/4 inch) clearance from the firewall, and the next car is off by 1/4 inch in production tolerance, its going to hit.
That is why Ford Racing says you may have to move the K-member. Cause when they are putting those things up on the assembly line they are not looking to see they are all exactly the same down to .0001 inches from spec. They just bolt them up. Every car is going to be different.
