Got to meet Carrol Shelby
I got a rare opportunity that can only be described as being in the right place at the right time. I was in Las Vegas this week for a friend's birthday party, and headed over to Shelby Headquarters for my second factory tour. It was friday, and there was a TV news crew there from one of the national HD channels. They announced they are filming a documentary about Carroll Shelby's life which is supposed to air this year, and announced we were in for a "special treat."
Low and behold, half way through the tour, he rolled out and was sitting right in front of me. I got an extremely rare chance to ask him a question for the cameras and was interviewed before the crew left. I won't give too many details until the show airs, but I promise I will spill the beans after.
Of course, this never happened if I don't provide pics, so here is one teaser picture of the man himself right in front of me. I can't say how excited and happy I am. I feel like I have sealed a place in the history of Shelby, however minuscule it is.
The crew was great too. I can't wait to see what they put together!
