Default 20's

Here is what I did with my 2011.
20 x 10.5 and 20 x 9.5
No rubbing etc.
Tires have less than 200 miles on them and I'm selling the wheel/tire combination. Going back to stock and trading the car in on a 2013.
Let me know if you want to save some money.
I have about $3,500 invested in the wheels/tires.

Default Vossen Wheels

Sure, here is a link to pictures of the car with the Vossen Wheels, Nitto Invo tires and all the specs. You can also click on the header at the top and go back to a menu to view the other mods that I've performed on the car.

Thanks for sharing. Car looks great.

Did you have to use hub rings? I assume the vossens didn't come with the factory hub bore of 70.6??

We have very similar cars (11 GT500 vert sterling grey/Black stripes).

Default Vossen Wheels

No hub rings required. They are made specifically for the mustang hub size. Or they came with them inside the wheels and I didn't remove them.

All Vossen Wheels do come with hub centering rings that snap into place on the wheel. When you mount the wheels there will be zero play, in fact you won't even need to place a lug nut on it to hold it in place. That's how nice they fit!

My friend runs 18x11's with either 305x40 or 315x40 without any rubbing at all. Pretty sure its the 315x40's

Well that all depends on HOW you are going to lower the car and What suspension setup you go with and what rims. If you want to see a extremely well done setup check out Griggs racing http://www.griggsracing.com/product_...roducts_id=607

With their setup you can run 305/35/18 front
315/30/18 Rear no problem

I for one do not see the reason to go with 20s (other then the looks) if a 18 or 19 rim fits the brakes you have the only reason to go with large rims is to fit a larger rotor for better breaking. A larger rim and tire means more weight.

I also think it is crazy that shelby has not already outfitting the GT500 with a suspension and wheel setup that allows for much larger tires then it does. especially the newest with over 900hp that is crazy HP to try to handle on such narrow rubber. Look at the tires on a ZR1, Vipper or even a FordGT or any other car that has over 500 hp and they all have at least 315s on the rear.
The fact that a GT500 buyer has to go out and buy new rims and tires is crazy the GT500 should come with as big a tire out back as possible to get that power to the road.
