8 grand over invoice F.U. factor........
Went to Alexander Ford in Franklin TN this morning to look at a 2012 Shelby GT500. They have the car at $56XXX.00 on the invoice, then add $8000.00 on top for the "rarity factor". There was nothing rare about the car, no special edition, not unusual, just a porking of potential customers.
They also had a Boss in there with a $7000.00 FU fee.

they figure those cars will draw in lookie-loos, like YOU! It worked, right?
The longer they keep the cars there the greater the chances of them selling a car to someone. It's just a way of drawing in people.
Some salespeople will let you look on your own, while the more aggressive ones will try to hype you up and then try to sell you a V6

Dealers are alotted low production vehicles based on volume of sales.
A dealer with a low volume will only get one or two cars at a time to sell of these "rare" cars.
Problem is they are typically shady so they will continue to have a low volume of sales.
Perfect example. Three Ford dealers in my area. One is hella shady but in a prime spot. They only get one or two low volume production cars when they are available and their prices include a markup just because they feel its necessary.
The one I have bought from and have my cars regulary serviced by is out in the boonies as far as dealerships go but always has a decent selection of everything including low volume production models. Their prices on the low production models is at highest (MSRP), never higher unless they include their own dealer custom package. Then they get outrageous in the markup.

Greedy pockets, it's their "way" of making some extra cash.
Surprised dealerships don't have Carrol Shelby stop in and sign every damn part of the car and try to jerk buyers even harder.
