I was shocked to read it this morning. If it weren't for this man's beautiful classic Shelby Mustangs of the '60s, who knows if I'd be driving a Mustang today. It was his creations that made me dream as a kid of one day owning a 1967 Shelby GT500 and just any Mustang that I can make my own. I can definately say that my plans for my Mustang are Shelby inspired, even if it's just a V6. A huge thank you goes out to Mr. Carroll Shelby and may he rest in peace.

Thank you Carroll for taking America's greatest muscle car and making it even better. And continuing to do it for decades! Your cars will live on as will our memories of you.

I couldn't imagine what the legacy of the Mustang would have been had you gone and worked on those Corvettes instead.

Carroll Shelby was an autosports legend, actually almost a god, who made Ford Motors what is today.

No other domestic auto manufacturer had a race care driver and sports car builder as such an integral part of their production, and it shows. Shelby's influence makes the Ford Mustangs street-legal race cars that I believe will smoke any Chevy or Mopar.

RIP Carrol Shelby.
