Default Basics

Ok, it sounds like I need to get the basics:

Pulley
CAI
Tune

Would the larger, 65mm throttlebody be a good idea?

Also, I want to get these cats taken off... will this affect my tune at all? I suppose I should have the 02s turned off in the tune rather than using the spark-plug non-fouler trick?

Thank you

I went with the FRPP CAI for my 2007. It might have a more conservative tune than the others, but I wanted something that was 50-state emissions legal, plus it looks OEM.

...as everyone here has already mentioned, if you're going to do it, do it right....pulley, CAI & tune.....then get ready to have a grin on your face from ear to ear, because you're not going to believe how much it's is going to change...for the better of course, lol!!

On my GT500, I went with the Metco 2.6 Pulley, Double Bearing Auxillary Pulley, JLT CAI & Dyno Tune on a Mustang Dyno.....let me tell you, the car becaomes a beast!

Look at going with a larger TB when you started putting down more power (blower swap). I did the FR 65MM TB on mine when I did the VMP TVS blower. Holy torque at only 2k rpms...

I've ordered the 65mm throttlebody (got a good deal), but I'm not going to change the elbow... don't want to dremel my S/C.

I love this car... it's amazing, I just don't like how it stumbles in 1st. I suppose it's the tall gears? Maybe the extra 150hp from CAI, tune Here are some pictures. I got her with the following simple mods: Painted stripes, Light bar, and sequentials.

nice looking ride! Yeah if you go with 3.73's it doesn't want to fall on it's face like it does with the 3.31's.

So 3.73s are what I need to do to avoid the lag when taking off in first? How would it respond to 3.55s or 4.10s?

No matter how much more power I make, the problem lies in the gear ratio, correct?

Thanks!

I have a Vista Blue 2007 that I bought in May 2012 with 9000 miles on it. It came with a K&N cai, Diablo tune and Magnaflow exhaust. I have added a Ford Racing short throw shifter. Later this month we go to Road America at Elkhart Lake, Wi for an ontrack event with the North Woods Shelby Club. In October we go to the Texas Mile for speed runs.
