Default Cold Air Intake

Hi all,

Just got my 2007 GT500 and it's bone stock. I want to get rid of the stock airbox. What CAIs are you guys using and why?

Is there any hint of truth in K&Ns claim of 50+HP gain from their kit?
http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?ID=1490

Thanks!

I went with JLT and it seems to work very good! A tune and an intake should be good for 30 to 50 HP. Let the fun begin and congratulations!!

If you don't need a tune then the intake didn't do anything for you, IMO! Other than that I think any of the intakes that require a tune should do about the same. JLT has some new ones out that are capable of more volume (might be nice if a supercharger upgrade is in the future for you)! That's about the only difference as far as I know.

BTW intake & tune was the first thing I did to mine.

Don't do the K&N
Do the JLT...
Call Justin at VMP tuning or Van at Revan Racing. Both VERY knowledgeable. Do the pulley/CAI/tune combo and it'll net you 100-130rwhp, and it will make your blower's whine much more noticeable. Trust me on this one!

Just wanted to give you some numbers from our CAI with Tune:

Steeda's new Cold Air Kit for the new Shelby GT500 produces the greatest power gains of any Cold Air Kit on the market. In house testing has shown increases of 97 HP to the rear wheels with Steeda's Cold Air Kit combined with our Custom SCT Tune, and increases of over 144 HP to the Rear Tires when combined with Steeda's Supercharger Pulley!!!

Here is a direct link to our unit and dyno charts http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-s...ir-intake.html

This is a great unit and let me know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

TJ

FWIW
Justin at VMP tested all the CAI and there respective impacts... All tested within the same parameters as far as gains etc.. I have the ford racing one.. It was the first thing I did..it's the same intake I have on now supporting over 675 Rwhp and 666 torque
