Default Need advice on a Shelby GT!

So a year ago I bought a used 06 GT and it was really problematic (my fault, I got excited and basically just bought it like an idiot)..So I moved into a 09 RT Challenger. At first I loved it but over time I began to miss my mustang for some reason so I began to look at mustangs once again.

So I found a 07 Shelby GT with 37k miles for 22 grand. Its in great shape and the best part is that the previous owner had a whipple supercharger profesionally installed!

My question is, is there anything I should be looking for before buying the car? The owner says it is at 522 HP at the crank. Should it have forged internals? New driveshaft?

Thanks!

Really? Even for it being supercharged?

Aftermarket items normally decrease, rather than increase the fair market value of any vehicle. Luck.

19k max. Which is still high, but you're paying a premium for the "Shelby" badging.

It's a crap shoot with those numbers. Most research says 450- 500 horse power is max for the stock engine. Some people have blown engines and some have not.
It would be nice if the engine is forged (less worries).

Thanks for all the responses guys. I talked to the guy and it looks like
I could get it for 18kish. Also, I've been told "The gentleman said that he has added American shorty headers, as well as everything was braced and built up in the engine due to the addition of the Whipple supercharger". But no more info then that so far..

If the car's in good shape and hasn't been wrecked (at all), then it sounds like a good deal, to me. Any idea who "professionally installed" the supercharger? If it was done at Shelby, making the car a GT/SC, then the price is a steal.

The car is in great shape and no crashes that carfax shows (though that does not show everything). But that's exactly what i'm wondering....I plan on checking it out again on wednesday to get some more answers...because as of now the place that its for sale at doesnt have all that much info about it

We paid 20 for our 'vert with a whipple and full suspension that was installed by the dealer. The sound system is also insane on it...so take that into consideration. As for the Shelby GT piece of it, meh I agree you're looking at more of a badging at that point. If you can get it for 18 then I'd say it's worth a deeper look. If they are saying 18, Id try to keep bringing them down and hope for mid 16 or 17...but I might go 18. Not a penny more considering I got a documented, warrantied, SC'd, and suspensified 'vert for 20.
