Car wont go into fourth gear at 6000-7000 rpm

So got my brand new 2017 Mustang GT performance pack a month ago, I've been noticed at 6000-7000 rpms on third gear, it will NOT shift into fourth, I swear I'm smashing in the clutch but it's just not going, I took it to service today and they said they tested the hell out of it (wasted all my already expensive gas) and they said it goes into fourth. What could be the issue? Why is the car not going into fourth at the high RPMs? I've jammed it in once and the car went insane like putting a 60 mph car in 1st.

Take the lead tech on a drive with you.

I don't think he'll appreciate me trying to change gears in 3rd gear at 7000 rpm considering that would be going around 100 mph lol.

Guys I just realized I've been smashing into second gear instead of fourth.... wow, now What I'm scared of is I destroyed the engine because it always redlined to 8000. Do you guys think the engine is OK? I mean i had the service today but ever since then I did it maybe 10 times. Is there anything in the engine to prevent damage?

Normally I'd agree with the you're an idiot thing xD But to be fair of driving a Cobra for 10 years and never having this problem, I'd blame it on the short shifter's positioning (and of course my retardedness xD)

A GT won't redline 8000RPM. The fuel shuts off at the actual redline to prevent over revving the engine.

so the rev reading was wrong? Basically the cars revs shut up to 8000 rpm in the guage and it hella slowed down quick.

I'd be worried about what damage you've done to the transmission??

If no damage has been done I'd say the MT82 is rather STRONG!!:icon_toast:

Get an MGW shifter and forget missed shifts!!:D

Good Luck!

If you're at the top of 3rd and throw it in second the fuel cutoff isn't gonna save you. It will go to where 2nd gear rpm corresponds for that speed.

Yup noticed thAt. The rev limiter wasnt hit. So at the next car service they should detect if anything was damaged correct?
