There has been guys blow at 400 and I've heard some are at 500 just fine. I say anything over 450 your on borrowed time.

There have been claims from 365rwhp stock to 400rwhp stock(05/06 SC). Are you saying the stock motors are on borrowed time? Are your power quotes in fwhp or rwhp? thanks

Not sure what you mean on fwhp--front wheel drive? My car like all saleens and mustangs for that fact are rear wheel drive--rwhp, so when i talk about hp like most people in here its rwhp--

I have 401 rwhp on my car. There are a ton of threads in here to help you on these questions. I had them to when I started modding. I looked in to the hp i wanted and came to realize I might as well get a engine swap, which I will be doing soon. I hope to get 600rwhp with a possible turbo set up or kb s/c not sure which yet.

flywheel horsepower-fwhp

If you guys are all talking rwhp that make me I only want to get 430-440 rwhp and stop there after the waranty is up. I would rather not do the replacement motor thing again(spent wayyyyyyyyy to much last time). 430 is enough for me.

Thanks for clearing it up

Thats a big gap. Any explanation for this?

Ask the guys that posted their claims.

10 hp variance is not unexpected from the factory on a n/a car. Maybe an S/C is a greater variance? If Saleen is dead on then 370 rwhp plus or minus 10hp-30hp would be somewhat accruate. Perhaps there is a difference in 05/06 cars but I heard it was just a calibration change in the way the power was calculated. Other factors would be, break in method, miles, oil etc. Since it does not say it voids warranty to have a dyno after 1000 miles I may do it in a year or so and post it. Want to get a few more miles on the car first.

Thats impressive - but not safe. How many times you think that engine will pull those numbers before it goes up in smoke [&:]

I was suprised they could even do one dyno pull with a setup like that. Time will tell.
