Default Info about the coil packs

Ok, information just in...

The granatelli coils definately lean out the SC cars. Just got word of another person who tried these and did a before and after dyno pull. The A/F leaned out by over 0.6 when the coils were installed.

Buyer beware, get on a dyno and plan on a tune if you get these.

The good news is it really smooths out the car and with a proper tune the early odds makers are figuring on about 420 RWHP with no need for a fuel supply add on.

With 420rwhp I assume your talking about guys with the 475 kit?

IMO, the stock Saleen set-up is too lean. As most will know with my first posts on this site, I disagree with the injector size on a stock 05/06 ( a fact validated by the change for 07) and the a/f ratio.

13.5 a/f on the stock 435 cars is not good long term. Sure, there has been no issues to this point. Most of these cars are garage queens and not driven at wot with frequency. My guess is that will change in the next few years. Just my two cents.

Custom tune anyone?

Scary ticking time bombs these 435 S/C cars.

I love the smell of oil in the morning.

Feels a little like the mid 90's and the S351.

As Jonsey said.... time will only tell.

If this was a factory Ford, Mercedes, Toyota or Nissan situation I guarantee these co.'s would re-call all of these cars and install injectors and mass airs and re-flash the PCMs. Just not enough S/C cars sold for Saleen to be worried yet.

Yes. I agree. Most of these cars are garage queens and have not been pushed. 13.5 is too lean for long term use.
