2003 S281 production #'s

Does anyone know how many S281's were produced in 03? Also how many in different color combos? I bought my 281 over a month ago. Does Saleen send you this info?

OK, in 03 Saleen did: 84 S281 coupes, 53 S281 verts, 128 S281 sc's, 100 281sc verts, 6 S281Cobras, 5 S281 Cobras, 4 S281E coupes, 10 S281E verts, 10 SA 20's, 2 Canadian verts.
For color combos, you can call Liz Saleen at 1 800 888 8945 and she can tell you how many were produced with specific options and color combos.

Thanx Birdie. So does Saleen send you any info when you purchase the vehicle new? I'm still waiting on my Team Saleen jacket. It seems like they have always taken forever on things.

from all my experience with Saleen, they have extremely terrible customer service, it is legendary. I had my replacement pedals ordered three times before they finally told me they ceased production on them. I love the cars but hate the customer service, don't expect them to go out of their way for ya.

I am paying the same price for insurance as a regular gt is. I just gave them the vin number and they have down how much I paid for the car. Is your down as a Saleen on insurance?

I have always had mine down as Saleens on the insurance. The reason I have always done this is if someone hits you, they will go through Saleen to get replacement parts. I think you run the risk of getting into a grey area for insurance adjusters. I guess all that really matters is you give the insurance co. the correct replacment value dollar amount when the vehicle is insured. Hey S281, I'm still waiting on my car.

Yes my car is under Saleen too, insurance doesn't care if it has a salvage title, so if it gets totlaed I get a clear titled Saleen! And Birdie, dang that was like three weeks ago, that insurance company is takin its sweet time! I am still waiting for my settlement check for an accident in January though, so I hear ya.[8D]
