Two differnt Saleen supercharged models exist for that year. One is the S281E, with the T56 tranny, and the other is a Saleen S281sc. The S281sc is the standard supercharged model avalible, and has the Tremec 3665 5 speed(same as a mustang gt). I'm guessing that the wrecked one you're looking at is a S281sc, since the S281E model was very limited(they made less than 100 in three years). Where is the car you are looking at? It's possible I know about, and can help you with questions on it. What state is the car located in?

Just got more info...turns out the car was a 2000 SC. Does that change which 5 speed tranny it is?
The Saleen site refers to it as a close ratio 5 speed, do we know the ratios?
Where can I get a spec sheet for it?

Ok, the 00's did have a different tranny. they had a T45. The newer tranny is a little better, but the T45 isn't bad. To get exact ratio #'s, you could call Saleen 1-800-888-8945. The throw is decently short. I think you'd be happy with it.

Thanks...I also heard that the tranny is all that remains not sold. Everything else has been scavenged. I'm probably gonna check it out this weekend to see if it can be adapted. What should it be worth? It includes a highly used clutch assy, the flywheel and separator plate, most of which I probably can't use...it has 6000 miles on it.

...Hard to say what its worth without knowing the condition. I'd say around a grand.

If it does not work for me, anyone here interested? I can probably provide contact info this weekend.
I have a feeling that it will mount only to a 4.6 due to the integral bell housing. I may be better off stuffing gforce gears into a T5...
