Early foxbody saleens start at $10,000 and for that you get alot of car that is in fair to good condition with relatively low mileage for its age.Add about 6 to 10thousand in mods over time and youve got a damn fast car that can rival many new saleens on the strip and on the road courseThats cheaper than a civic or a new GT,Cobra, or roush. Dude you have a serious mental problem. anyway the 347 is also a very effiecent oil burner from were the oil ring lands on the piston. ye si know probe industries has made a 347 stroker piston to solve this problem were they raised up the oil ring but they also made the top so thin that it is prone to cracking,another reason why i would not want to live with a 347 everyday. and withthe body kit thing, yeah im gonna use steve saleen's design, you know why because how the hell do u want me to make my own bodykit? out of garden trim? o and im very happy to see you worked at a body shop for 2 years, i bet you learned how to use a broom real well. i dont like what u say? no i love what you say its entertianing to see how some people are real ******** from the start i asked a question you gave quite a homosexual response but that ok caus ei can take it. but i wont let you off without proving you wrong.btw if i got an lx for 4k and a saleen kit for another 1k them whats the sense in spending 10k for a real saleen?an extra 5k for authenticity? i could care less if it was a real saleen i just like the way it looks. well i certainly hope you will find somehting better to do than to reply to this post or anyother post i make becaus ei could really do without your snide remarks and ******* comments, if you dont intend to help then dont bother posting!</P>

Besides you are a 19 year old ******* with nothing better to do than be gay and please do not try to tell me you grew up around mechanics becasue if you did then would have known the 347 is an oil burner and the rod ratio makes the wrist pin cause greater side loads on the cylinder walls causing increased wear. please do not reply to my posts justin smith i do not need your advice.

This is my Babby. 1994 Saleen with a rebuilt 351 winzer. I have more money in the engine than my house. Everywhere I go people come out of the wood work and ask me about my car.

I always have to pop my hood to prove to people that it is NOT an all show no go car. If you get a body kit that looks like a saleen you will have the same problem. People will pull up along side you and give you the universal "spin your tires" motion. Everyone and there brother will want to race. I have had on 2 seperate ocasions people follow me home and ask a bunch of questions when all I wanted to do was to go Watch the game.

What I am trying to say is be ready for that. I would hate to see you make an expensive investment and be unhappy with it in the long run.

For starters, anything that old and the banks (all to my knowledge) are only gonna finance for 2 years, on a 10k car your gonna be lookin at payments of $500.00 per month if you financed all of it. Yes then sale price is cheaper than most all new cars, but not the payment price. In addition, ALL banks would rather loan on a new car vs an old specialty car any day. That may not be a problem for you or I, but 3 years ago I could't afford that. The average 19 year old prolly makes 7 bucks an hour, and half the members here are that age.</P>


All I'm really asking is for you not to be so critisizing with your advice. Alot of new people come here for advice, and we don't want to be driving them away because we call them idiots for not being as well informed as others. thankyou for seeing my point, the attention problem your goin got get with alot of cars that looknice not just a saleen. i get the universal spinyour tires now anyway and any car that sounds like its got a pair is gonna get noticed. the purpose of the forum is to help each other right? therefore if i ask a question i am expecting an informative response not a snide remark.

I will say one final thing and you and others can take it for what its worth. First ask any mechanic and hell tell you a built up engines gonna wear out fast and burna little oil and that messing with rod ratios in a small block thats not seeing nitrous is a waste of time. Second the idea behind saleen is not to build a car for pionting and going straight. The wholeidea of the car was to enhance the driving experience as a whole (open track driving or tracks with varying multiple turns for you people who are strictly into drag racing.)Thats why i get insulted when i see replica saleens that may be a fast straight line car (even faster than a real saleen)but they have nothing in common except the lookof a saleen. It pisses me off in the way one might get pissedat seeing that damn GT-R skyline logo on a mustang, or a mustang with a type R sticker on it, or the way one might get pissed who owns a bmw z3 at seeing those damn hondas with z3 fenders. I worked hard to get my 93 saleen and because i wanted to be different from everyone else. I guess i get carried away with what people do because i feel like i worked hard for something special and somebody can just get a regular stang and clone it and ive known people who have done that and passed it off as being real. yesi did push a broom atthe body shop, but we werent a big businees so at one point or anothereberyone did their part in broom pushing, but i also did body work. Im fully aware that saleens are not in any way the god of all mustangs nor are they the fastest. Their just a good all around fast car. I realize most of the users on the forum hate me now and im sorry for going off like a pr**k, or making demeaning comments towards them. I forget that a person who is building a car is not doing it for the soul purpose of pissing people off cause its not real, they simply wanted it the way they would build a car and could care less about s**t they dont want. I also would like to apologize to the guy who wants to put an s351 body kit on his car who i started $hit with. I used my words carlessly thinking you were just another ricer ***, and was very pissed when you said i was an idiot about cars, but i brought that on myself and turned this thing into a pissing contest just because of the fact i wanted to go off on someone for trying to make something like what i had. Again im sorry. Finally i would like to apologize for filling this post with bulls**t just cause i got pissed that someone wanted a saleen kit on their car. I should appreciate the fact that their are other people in the world that like american iron, and not all into putting "mufflaz" on their honda, and that this forum was created for peoplewho love all mustangs(except riced out pieces of s**t ones)to help their fellow enthuisiastswith information. Id rather see fake saleens that were at least fast all day than riced out pieces of s**t. I hope that yall will accept this apology and in the future Iwill only post helpful information, or comments that are relavent to the conversation. I hope this offered a little insight to my ******* like behavior.
