Didn't realize they changed the gears. I would guess it was too battle the increase in horsepower. Basically to keep the gas guzzler tax down. I love my E with the 4:10 gears. For daily driving I'm sure the 3:73 are better, but for having fun the 4:10 are great. Since I don't use the car as a daily driver it works out great for me.

I would guess with the huge increase in power that 4.10 gears would actually make the car slower in the 1/4 as you would have to grab 4th gear. With 3.73s and 6500rpm on the 08Extreme you have a great powerband with no need for 4.10 gears.

H302SC
So with the H302SC you get as standard equipment:
580hp
forged internals
6-speed trans
Max-grip diff
watts linkage rear suspension
Is 580hp correct??? That is incredible. I wish I could get all of the above in the styling of the S281SC (without having to pay for an Extreme).
Anyone know how much the H302SC car will cost?I went to saleen.com but there was nothing on pricing for the Heritage.

RE: H302SC
Never mind, I found the pricing at the bottom of the article from the link:
"Priced at $74,999 for the H302 SC and $79,999 for the S302E...."
Oh well, maybe I'll look for a used H302SC on e-bay in two or three years.

RE: H302SC
This what irks me about Saleen.
Why not any hard numbers?
Braking?
Excelleration?
Skid pad?
1/4 mile times?

This is more of what I was alluding to when I mentioned earlier...."when are we going to see some performance specs on these beast?"
