Default 2005 Saleen Supercharged 281s

Has anybody heard when the supercharged version will be available? Are they having problems with the supercharged version?

Thanks Ron

Production on the S/C models has been delayed indefinitely from what I have heard. This is as of last Fri. The N/A S281 does not have certification either and there are problems with the cars that have been sold not passing regular emmission testing.
Saleen SSV fired 9 execs a week ago and two in Irvine. Word is that Ford is going to fined as well as Saleen for every 05 S281 N/A car sold. I have not seen a recall yet.
Ford is blaming Saleen for all of the production problems with the GT and Saleens contract will be up this year. It is also new news that Hancock Park Associates, Saleen's new investor from last year will not be re-investing any more money into the company. Tragic news really. I hope something can be done soon.

my dealer called me last week and confirmed that Saleen would be building my S281SC the first of April and would have it the 3rd or 4th week of April. That's coming straight from Saleen. I hope your wrong.

Sure are a lot of rumors and half truths out there. As of last Friday, there was a hold on sale of new Saleens in California only. The na S281 failed the California state emissions test. Maybe they were alerted because of the Motor Trend article. Saleens in the other 49 states continue to be sold and there is no recall. The Saleen rep told my dealer that the S281SC engines have now been certified and are still to begin production on April 1st.

I hope so. They still have a lot of parts for the new blowers they have not recieved yet, let alone certification on the S/C cars. Who told you they already have cert on the S/C. Hell, they only have ONE single S/C car driveable, and I know they don't have cert yet. All of the cars were supposed to have 50 state cert. It's too bad there isn't any one person at Saleen that actually knows the truth about anything.
nrcollectibles, I'm assuming you have an S/C on order? I hope they are not just telling everyone that ordered one that. That would be horrible, but not the first time.

I just talked to Sean at Saleen and everything is moving forward as scheduled, with a first week of april release of the S281sc. He said they have several cars built, and have been doing some testing. No emmisions issues or blower issues for the supercharged car. As a matter of fact, the new series 6 blower is now avalible for sale as a kit for $4995. Everything should be right on time.
